Lea Michele’s (Rachel) has gotten some flack in the past for reportedly snubbing some younger actresses (remember that whole Hailee Steinfeld debacle?), but did the Glee star get a taste of her own medicine at the American Horror Story: Freak Show premiere in Los Angeles this past weekend? It sure looks like it!
E! Online has video footage of Lea happily posing on the red carpet in her gorgeous Cushnie et Ochs strapless, velvet dress, and in the midst of Lea’s photo op, AHS legend Jessica Lange walks onto the carpet and waltzes right in front of the “Cannonball” singer.
To make matters even more cringe-worthy, Lea can clearly be seen waving to Jessica and mouthing “Hi”, but the 65-year-old literally couldn’t care less and keeps walking by. Yikes. But to Lea’s credit, she brushes off the awkward moment like a total pro: By pretending it didn’t happen and flipping her hair.
While this interaction is pretty funny to watch (over and over again in GIF form), people are likely making a bigger deal than necessary out of this so-called snub. From what we can tell, Jessica was simply waiting for her turn to pose in front of the paps (it is her show after all), and once she realized Lea wasn’t moving along anytime soon, she decided to get a prime spot in front of the flashbulbs on other side of the 28-year-old.
And if you look carefully at the video, Jessica is clearly looking straight ahead of her, so it’s quite possible she didn’t even see or hear Lea say hello.
